Home Support Volunteer

Purpose:

Do you have two hours a week to spare? That’s all it takes to help older people and their carers in Glenrothes and the surrounding areas. By becoming a Home Support Volunteer, you will help older people feel less isolated by visiting them in their homes or supporting them to go out in the local community, etc.

Our mission is to promote independence, improve confidence and reduce social isolation, by providing a choice of services that reflect the aspirations and requirements of each individual and their carers where possible.

Time commitment:

Minimum 2 hours per week. Our Help to Stay at Home visits take place from Monday-Thursday (9am – 4.30pm).

Your benefits:

If you enjoy helping others and meeting new people, this role could bring you a sense of fulfilment. It could also be an excellent opportunity to boost your confidence, work on your interpersonal skills and promote personal development.

You will have the opportunity to visit clients in their homes or support them in the local community, providing them with help and encouragement. This might include having a coffee and a bleather, going out for a walk, enjoying a little bit of light shopping, visiting a local cafe, you name it! You can engage in activities such as jigsaws, puzzles, crafts, singing, and listening to music, or assist them with practical tasks.
