Day Service Volunteer Driver 

Purpose:

Do you have a few hours a week to spare? That's all it takes to help older people and their carers in Glenrothes and the surrounding areas.  By becoming a volunteer driver, you will help us to enhance older peoples' quality and enjoyment of life.

Our mission is to promote independence, improve confidence and reduce social isolation by providing a choice of services that reflect the aspirations and requirements of each individual and their carers where possible.

​

Time commitment:

Minimum 2 hours per week (10am - 11am & 2pm to 3pm)

​

This role can be combined with our Day Service Volunteer role.  Our Day Service Volunteers help at client groups Mondays to Thursdays, from 10.30am to 2.15pm. 

​

The Role

To transport and assist clients who travel to and from their home to Later Life Choices Glenrothes (LLCG) Day Care Centre at Napier House in Glenrothes using your own vehicle. The key elements of this role are:

  • Picking up clients from their home, transporting them to the Day Centre, and returning them home at the end of the session

  • Assisting clients safely boarding and alighting from the vehicle, whilst adhering to LLCG’s policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as Health & Safety regulations and other relevant legislation.

  • Supporting clients in a person-centred way

  • Promoting and maintaining clients’ independence and confidence
